Permits available at City Hall only

Watering Permit (no fee)
Reason: sod and/or seedling
This permit is issued by the Infrastructure and Engineering Department for a period of ten (10) days, for approximately 4 hours per day (if necessary)
Exception: We do not issue watering permits for lawn treatments
Approved by the Director or a department employee.

Water permit from a fire hydrant (fee of $75 per trip)
If a contractor needs to take water from a fire hydrant in order to perform work in the City.
The permit needs to be approved by the Environmental Manager and OCWA

Half-load permit (no fee)
A contractor needs to apply for a half load permit during thawing season (March to May) in order to transport materials, machinery, etc.
Needs to be approved by the Operations Manager, Public Works

Road cut permit (Deposit of $2,000 + $200 permit fee)
Contractor and/or resident needs to apply for a road cut permit before starting work on City paved roads (ex. water connection)
Needs to be approved by the Civil Engineering Technologist, Public Works

Moving Permit ($2,500 deposit)
Contractor needs to apply for a moving permit before moving a building/structure within the City limits.
Needs to be approved by the Operations Manager, Public Works

Permit to connect to the water system (fees to be confirmed by the Finance Department)
Contractor and/or resident needs to obtain a permit to authorize the execution of the work to connect to the water system as per City’s standards.
Needs to be approved by the Assistant Director, Infrastructure and Engineering

Garbage Permit (Fees vary depending on the load)
Only contractors working in the City can apply for a permit for unloading waste at the municipal dump – permit is valid for six (6) months.
Waste needs to come ONLY from the City of Clarence-Rockland
Needs to be approved by the Environmental Manager or a department employee

Entrance Permit ($1,500 min. deposit – permit is $200)
Contractor and/or resident needs to apply for a permit to install/replace a culvert or to fill in a ditch.
Needs to be approved by the Civil Engineering Technologist, Public Works

9. Sanitary Sewer Works Connection Permit
Contractor and/or resident must apply for a permit to perform the connection to the sanitary sewer system as per City Standards.
Needs to be approved by the Assistant Director, Infrastructure and Engineering Depart.
Contractor and/or resident needs to apply for a permit to install/replace a culvert or to fill in a ditch.
Need to be approved by Nicholas Brunet, Civil Engineering Technologist, Public Works
